Arizona Estate Wines: Deep Sky Vineyard

Owners, Kim and Phil Asmundson, were originally inspired to start a winery while visiting the Uco Valley, south of the city of Mendoza. They returned to AZ and realized the potential to grow grapes in their own “backyard.” Drawing similarities to climate in Argentina, they began with Malbec and expanded to cultivate Rhone varietals. All of their fruit comes from family-owned, estate vineyards - one in Elgin and one in Willcox. The single varietal wines are standouts amidst thoughtful blends, all made by the talented James Callahan.
