Clos Cibonne press in Decanter magazine’s yearly roundup of the best Provence rosés, with two Cibonne wines receiving the highest accolades in an exhaustive tasting by a panel of 3 MW’s.
At any rate, this recent press only adds to what has become an incredible body of quality work Clos Cibonne has been producing since we first brought in their 2009 vintage to the US. Speaking of vintages, 2018 yielded near-perfect growing conditions for wines destined for the cellar and as a result, Clos Cibonne feels that the 2018’s will exceed in quality the landmark 2009 and 2011 vintages, which have aged so gracefully. Consumers looking for the 2009 magic from Clos Cibonne would be advised not to miss the stellar 2018 vintage. This offer also marks the first release of Château Cibon Cuvée Marius, a tribute to Marius Roux, who was the modern founder of Clos Cibonne and defender of the Tibouren grape in Provence in the 1800’s. The label is a recreation of the original labels of the late 1800’s, when the winery was called Château Cibon. This predates their iconic labels designed in the 1920’s, which still adorn their bottles today. Estate grown, organic Tibouren (90%) and Grenache (10%) from a special parcel of Cibonne’s oldest bush-trained Tibouren vines, grown just 600m from the
Mediterranean Sea.
